DIY Flower Candle

Spring is finally here! I love spring and these flower candles might be my favorite DIY to date. I love flowers and candles, so why not combine two of my favorite things to make the perfect piece for some original home decor. Lucky for you, I tried to make this one as linkable as possible so you can try it out for yourself. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do.

Ingredients:

  • Dried Flowers

  • Amazon Wax Melting Kit

  • Extra Candle Melting Wax

  • Amazon Candle Bowl

  • Thrifted Candle Bowl

  • Essential Oil of Choice

**Note these ingredients make both of the candles listed**

Step One:

Attach Wicks to your candle base. I used 3 for the round one and 5 for the rectangular one. The kit I used was super easy and had sticky tabs that attached directly to it.

Step Two:

Start by melting your wax following your wax kit. Then fill your desired vase until about an inch from the top.

A little tip for finding out your needed wax amount: Using a measuring cup fill your vase with water up to about an inch from the top. The amount of water is equivalent to the amount of melted was you need for your candle. This helped me melt just enough wax without wasting it and helping keep your scent you added even throughout the candle.

Step Three:

While your candles are cooling pick out with dried flowers you want to use for each candle. The dried flower kit I got off Amazon was perfect and had enough supplies for both candles.

Step Four:

Fill your candle with more wax up until you reach your desired height. Make sure you have your flowers on hand before this step because you’ll start placing right away after. :)

Step Five:

Now comes the fun part! Once you have your flowers laid out and your thin layer is cooling add your flowers wherever and however you want! I wanted to have two themed between my candles. Bright and fun and more of a warm vibe as well. If you’d rather work in sections you can able pour a little at a time allowing for more time to work with!

Once you add all your flowers on top of your candle I decided to add another thin layer in the areas where the wax might have dried to allow for the flowers to be held in place a little better.

This DIY was definitely one for the books. I am in LOVE with how these turned out and they’re the perfect piece to add to your spring decor collection! These would be perfect for a gift, girls night activity, or even just to keep for yourself ;). Not to mention you can get so creative with your patterns and layouts of your flowers no two are the same! I attached as many as the links here that I could for you incase you wanted to use any of the same materials!!

XOXO - Amanda
