Kitchen Remodel Must Haves
Remodeling a Kitchen — really any room — is not always an easy decision. There’s a lot of hours that go into it especially if you’re like me making sure everything you pick is just right. That’s why when we remodeled our kitchen a few years ago I made sure I did my research. I knew there were a few design pieces that I wanted to incorporate. After using my kitchen these past few years the design and details I added were the perfect addition so I wanted to make sure I shared each of them with you!
Tip #1 - Hidden Appliance Cabinet
If you know me you know I love a clean minimalistic look. This appliance storage cabinet allowed for me to have all my appliances hidden away when I have guests over or when it’s not in use.
Tip #2 - Appliance Drawer
This has been a game changer. I love that it’s right next to my stove for easy access, and I love how I can organize them rather than having them in a drawer or on my counter.
Tip #3 - Spice Drawer
The other half of my heart! This organized spice jar section making all my spices look cohesive and all the same size. I love this so much and it honestly makes me want to cook more when I open the cabinet and see everything perfect in it’s place.
Tip #4 - Kitchen Mix Hideaway
Let’s be honest, this thing weights a ton and constantly pulling it out every time I want to use it can be a task. This easy drawer allows me to use it so conveniently when I need it, and pulling a few simple knobs when I lower it back down. BIG GAME CHANGER!!
Tip #5 - Knife Storage
I know this might be an unpopular opinion but I love a clean countertop. I would much rather display my knifes all organized like this in my drawer. As you can tell, I own a variety of knife looks and this hides them away while at the same time keeping them organized.
Tip #6 - Drawer Personalized Plate/Pan Storage
Have you seen something like this?! I knew I wanted a way to keep all my pots and pans securely in place. Since our drawers are so deep, stacking them high can easily allow for them to slide around. These simple drawer organizers let me keep them all in place!! Everything has the perfect spot!
Tip #7 - Custom Drawer Cutlery Storage
Are you surprised that I have a custom cutlery organizer??! haha. Organization makes my life so much easier, especially having these custom inserts where each utensil has a spot.
Tip #8 - Under Island Storage
I typically have my island chairs in this spot, so you might not have ever noticed this storage spot before. I love this spot to organize seasonal platters/dishes that don’t get used all the time. It consist of two slide- out shelves that hold everything in place and allow for the perfect easy access while keeping them hidden away!
Let's talk design for a minute! On top of all the favorite organization tips, let's not forget about the perfect look pairing that ties it all together and brings it to life!! When we redid our kitchen, I knew I didn't want a traditional backsplash but still wanted something. I wanted a seamless look, so I decided to do the backsplash as a slab to match my countertops, and I love how it turned out. Another accent I added was the waterfall countertop that goes all the way to the floor on my left side, giving it a uniqueness. One of my favorite things I added was my pot filler over my stove that lets me put water right into the pot! Lastly, picking the cabinet color and finishes was no easy task. So many color options and choices to choose from. However, I'm happy that I kept all my knobs cohesive and the same finish. I decided to go with all the same finishes but different variations to fit in each place!
Curating a space isn’t an easy task, and there are definitely a lot of options when it comes picking what pieces you want to incorporate. I hope these tips and fav picks are helpful when you start to design your next space!
