Valentine’s Day Chex-Mix

Valentine's Day Chex-Mix Diy

We’ve all heard of creating your own sweet and salty Chex-Mix but, what about Valentine’s Day Chex-Mix? Here’s my fun twist on the traditional fan fav making it the perfect Valentine’s themed treat!

DIY Valentine's Chex Mix Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups - Chex cereal (you can use any variety, like rice, corn, or wheat Chex)

  • 1 Cup - Pretzels sticks or twists (I found these cute X’s & O’s at the store)

  • 1 Bag (10 oz.) - Valentine's Day M&M's or other Valentine's-themed candies

  • 1 Cup - Cheerios

  • 1/2 Cup - Roasted peanuts

  • 1 Bag - Pink candy melts

How To:

1. Prepare the Ingredients:

Measure out all the ingredients and set them aside.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper for later.

2. Mix the Dry Ingredients:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the Chex cereal, pretzels, M&M's, and peanuts. Gently toss them together until evenly mixed.

3. Melt the Pink Chocolate:

  • Put a glass bowl into a shallow pot with bowling water on the stove and add in your pink candy melts allowing them to melt.

  • Be careful not to overheat the chocolate as it can easily burn.

4. Add Chocolate Coat:

  • Once the chocolate is melted, pour the melted chocolate mixture over the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl.

  • Gently stir and toss until all the dry ingredients are evenly coated with the pink chocolate mixture.

5. Let it Set:

  • Spread the coated Chex mix onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer.

  • Allow the Chex mix to set at room temperature for about 30 minutes to 1 hour, or until the chocolate has hardened.

6. Serve or Package:

  • Once the Chex mix is set, you can break it into clusters and serve it immediately.

  • Alternatively, you can package the Chex mix in Valentine's-themed bags or containers to give as gifts or enjoy later.

Not only is this such an easy gift idea but it’s the perfect afternoon sweet treat! The pink chocolate and Valentine’s Day M&M’s is the perfect addition for this holiday treat. Remember to get creative and have fun! I hope this little simple treat brightens your day!

XOXO - Amanda
